Norm Coleman

Norm Coleman is a seasoned American politician, attorney, and lobbyist, born in 1949. His entry into politics began with his affiliation with the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), under which he was first elected. Notably, Coleman served as the mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota, from 1994 to 2002. During his tenure as mayor, he made a significant shift in his political allegiance, becoming a Republican in 1996.

Coleman's political career reached its pinnacle when he was elected to the United States Senate in 2002, representing Minnesota. He held this position from 2003 to 2009. His tenure in the Senate was marked by a closely contested reelection bid in 2008, which he narrowly lost. To this day, Coleman remains the last Republican to have represented Minnesota in the U.S. Senate, highlighting his significant contribution to the state's political landscape.
