Moses Najara I

Moses Najara I was a prominent figure in the Jewish community, born around 1508, likely in the city of Safed. His father, Levi Najara, played a significant role in his life, and Moses would go on to become a respected rabbinical writer in his own right. He spent a considerable amount of time in Damascus, where he served as a rabbi and was actively involved in the local community.
Moses Najara I's literary contributions include the notable work Leḳaḥ Ṭob, which showcases his expertise in Jewish scholarship. As a family man, he was also the father of Israel Najara, a poet who would follow in his footsteps and make a name for himself in the literary world.
