Haim Raphael HaLevi ben Aaron of Staroselye
Haim Raphael HaLevi ben Aaron of Staroselye was a prominent figure in the Strashelye movement, a branch of the Chabad school of Hasidic Judaism. As the second and last rebbe of this movement, he played a significant role in its development and legacy. The Strashelye movement, named after the town in present-day Belarus where its leaders resided, was rooted in the teachings and customs of Chasidut, which originated from the Baal Shem Tov.
Rabbi Haim's spiritual lineage was deeply connected to influential figures in Hasidic Judaism. His father, Aaron HaLevi ben Moses of Staroselye, was a disciple of Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder of the Chabad movement, and a friend of Rabbi Dovber Schneuri, a key figure in the development of Chabad Hasidism. This lineage reflects the movement's foundation in the Kabbalistic works of Rabbi Isaac Luria, which shaped the spiritual practices and philosophies of the Strashelye branch.
